Blogging is something I realized was possible for me at a time in my life when I needed it the most. I have been able to create and grow a business, by myself, continuing to learn along the way. I believed I was a capable writer and enjoyed writing everyday, if possible. So blogging was a logical and eventually a possibly profitable life choice. Below are just a few of the reasons why I love blogging and why it is such a huge part of my life.
1 A Creative Outlet
Creating and cultivating a blog is an excellent outlet for my need to make something unique that represents my ideas and passions. Bloggers are modern day storytellers passing along insights and a different view to a topic. Blogs become virtual written legacies which can be accessed by future generations.
2 Learning and Growing
I have a virtual time line of my growth. I look at posts from my early days and realize how much I’ve learned. My writing has improved over time and research has taught me immense amounts of information in various niches. Business skills I learned along the way allowed my passion to transform into an income stream.
I have become a better version of myself. Writing an authentic post takes insight into your thoughts and feelings by taking a long hard look at yourself. It can be pretty daunting to put your personal thoughts out there for all to see, read, maybe even judge. Then, the most amazing thing happened…comments, private messages and emails from readers touched by or could relate to my words arrived. Those encouraging angels reaffirmed my confidence that I not only found my purpose, but I could be purposeful in its execution.
3 Blogging Community
There is no better group of people than those that make up the blogging community.
They provide a never ending supply of support, motivation and encouragement. New to the scene, I was blown away by the outpouring of advice and direction from veteran bloggers. Free of competition everyone genuinely tries to make each other better and reach their goals.
4 Work From Anywhere
As long as I have my trusty laptop and an internet connection I’m in business, literally. Maintaining a consistent level of discipline and dedication to offer quality content are paramount in blogging. Location, not so much. It is amazing to have the freedom and flexibility to work from anywhere, even my bed on days when my work attire consists of PJ’s and a messy bun.
5 A Personal Platform
I love having a platform to introduce, promote and bring awareness to things I find worthy to recommend. From causes I support, books and authors to discover, to showing some love to other blogs and bloggers I feel have an important message to be shared. I am grateful to have an avenue to share with others what has brought joy and meaning to my life.
